Solstice N40 R448A

Solstice® N40 (R-448A) is a next-generation, hydrofluoroolefin (HFO)-based zeotropic refrigerant blend, developed to replace high-GWP refrigerants such as R-404A and R-507 in direct expansion (DX) refrigeration systems.

This refrigerant combines a low Global Warming Potential (GWP) with excellent energy efficiency, enabling significant reductions in energy consumption compared to older formulations. It is classified as ASHRAE A1 (non-flammable) and is compatible with POE oils commonly used in modern refrigeration circuits.

Key applications include:

• Commercial and Industrial Refrigeration: Display cases, cold rooms, warehouses, and supermarkets.

• New Installations or Retrofitting: For systems previously charged with R-404A or R-507.

Solstice® N40 (R-448A) can be used for both new equipment and rapid retrofits without the need to replace critical components such as compressors or lubricants, thereby simplifying system upgrades.
