Kryon R1234yf HFO

The Kryon® HFO yf R1234yf is a refrigerant belonging to the fourth generation of hydrofluoroolefins (HFO), designed to meet the requirements of modern environmental regulations, including the European Union F-gas regulations (EU Reg. 2024/573).

This refrigerant was developed at the Honeywell Fluorochemicals research center with the aim of gradually replacing HFC R-134a in automotive air conditioning systems and chillers, thanks to its very similar thermodynamic characteristics but with an extremely low Global Warming Potential (GWP) (below 1).

The Kryon® 1234yf maintains a high level of energy efficiency and operating pressures comparable to those of R-134a, making the transition of existing equipment to a more sustainable refrigerant easier. Its advanced environmental properties make it compliant with the latest standards for the reduction of greenhouse gases and position it as an ideal choice for modern air conditioning systems.

The product is classified as A2L according to ASHRAE (slightly flammable), but it is designed to operate under normal conditions without ignition risk in automotive systems.

GeneralGas guarantees the supply of cylinders manufactured in accordance with the European T-PED regulation, refillable and reusable, with a refundable deposit upon return of the empty cylinder for refilling (“HandyGas”).
