Opteon® XL20 (R-454C) is a modern refrigerant blend developed by Chemours, featuring an optimized profile for performance, efficiency, and environmental sustainability. It has a GWP of approximately 148, well below the limit of 150 imposed by European F-Gas regulations and Ecodesign requirements, making it a viable long-term, low-impact solution.

This refrigerant is classified as mildly flammable (ISO/ASHRAE A2L) and has zero ozone depletion potential (ODP = 0). It is miscible with polyol ester (POE) lubricants, allowing for smooth integration into new equipment or systems designed for R-404A/R-22 with minimal modifications.

The thermodynamic characteristics of Opteon® XL20 ensure performance similar to traditional R-404A and R-22 refrigerants, offering a strong balance between capacity and operational efficiency in low- and medium-temperature applications.
