Not all equipment designed for traditional refrigerants is automatically suitable for flammable fluids. It is therefore necessary to always check the manufacturer's declared compatibility for equipment such as:

  • recovery systems;
  • leak detectors;
  • measuring instruments;
  • vacuum pumps and related accessories;
  • cylinders and containers;
  • components used in charging operations.

European training places particular emphasis on the safe handling of equipment containing flammable or toxic gases or operating at high pressure.

With the evolution of refrigerants, it becomes even less sufficient to consider an installation completed when the system can simply start up.

Commissioning allows you to verify that the system actually functions according to the expected parameters and may include, depending on the equipment:

  • refrigerant quantity control;
  • pressure and temperature checks;
  • superheat and subcooling control;
  • leak test;
  • checking safety devices;
  • control configuration;
  • recording of initial operating parameters.

Correct documentation also provides a reference for subsequent maintenance and facilitates the identification of any anomalies.

The European framework explicitly links training and qualification to the energy efficiency of equipment : improving the quality of installation and maintenance helps maintain the system's expected performance over time.

The A2L transition therefore also represents a professional transition. The new European system requires not only refrigerants with a lower climate impact, but technicians capable of operating correctly with different fluids and technologies.
