Meet the Record team and discover valve cores engineered for CO₂, R290 and next-generation refrigerants.

At Chillventa 2026, Record will showcase its expertise in developing valve cores designed to meet the evolving requirements of the refrigeration industry, with a particular focus on applications using CO₂, R290 and low-GWP refrigerants.
The transition towards alternative refrigerants calls for components capable of withstanding high operating pressures, demanding temperature conditions and the specific properties of fluids that differ from conventional refrigerants.
At the exhibition, Record will present two patented valve cores developed to address these requirements: V2982.1, specifically engineered for CO₂ applications, and V29982PEU.ECO, compatible with R290, HFCs, HFOs and their blends.
Two solutions for next-generation refrigerants
Different elastomer materials and valve core configurations are designed to meet the specific requirements of applications using CO₂, R290 and low-GWP refrigerants.
CO₂ and high-pressure applications
V2982.1
The V2982.1 is a double-body valve core developed for applications involving gaseous CO₂ and operating conditions characterised by high pressures.
Its EPDM seals are designed to withstand extrusion under high pressure and explosive decompression, making the valve core suitable for geothermal applications as well.
Elastomer: EPDM
Operating pressure: 0 ÷ 60 bar
Maximum static pressure: 200 bar
Operating temperature range: −35 ÷ +120 °C
R290, HFCs, HFOs and blends
V29982PEU.ECO
The V29982PEU.ECO is a patented double-body valve core featuring HNBR seals, developed for refrigeration systems using R290 hydrocarbon refrigerant, HFCs, HFOs and HFO/HFC blends.
The double-body design minimises torsional stress on the outer seal during assembly, helping to reduce the risk of refrigerant leakage while preserving the elastomer's sealing properties.
Elastomer: HNBR
Operating pressure: 0 ÷ 60 bar
Maximum static pressure: 200 bar
Operating temperature range: −35 ÷ +145 °C
Choosing the right valve core for each application
Both valve cores are designed for high-pressure operation, with different elastomer materials and configurations tailored to specific application requirements.
V2982.1
Applications: CO₂ and geothermal systems
Seal material: EPDM
Key feature: Resistance to seal extrusion under high pressure
Additional protection: Resistance to explosive decompression
V29982PEU.ECO
Applications: R290, HFCs, HFOs and blends
Seal material: HNBR
Key feature: Double-body valve core design
Advantage: Reduced torsional stress on the seal during assembly
Shared design feature
Double-body design to minimise seal stress
Both the V2982.1 and V29982PEU.ECO valve cores feature a double-body design engineered to minimise the torsional stresses exerted on the outer seal during assembly.
Reducing mechanical stress on the elastomer helps maintain its sealing properties and minimise the risk of leakage. This is particularly important in refrigeration applications involving high operating pressures and next-generation refrigerants.
Performance for high-pressure applications
Both valve cores are engineered to withstand the demanding operating conditions of modern refrigeration systems.

Experience and innovation
From conventional valves to low-GWP refrigerants
Founded in 1946, Record has built its expertise through continuous engineering development and innovation in the design and manufacture of valves and related components, supported by extensive patenting activities.
In 2005, the company patented a high-pressure valve for CO₂ systems. Since 2017, Record has also developed valve cores capable of withstanding increasingly demanding pressure and temperature conditions, responding to the industry's transition towards low-GWP refrigerants.
Research and development, precision machining, vulcanisation and assembly are all integrated into the company's production process, ensuring a strong focus on quality and the development of application-specific solutions.
